COMPETITIONS

TORONTO, ONT., "Design for a Town House Costing $2,500", a design competition staged by the Canadian Architect & Builder magazine, 1888. Horwood received 1st Prize for his drawings submitted under the pseudonym "Dessir a Teur" (C.A.B., i, May 1888, 3). The winner was erroneously listed as John C.B. Howard [sic] of Toronto (inf. Harry T. Holman, Charlottetown)
ETOBICOKE, ONT., Public Library, New Toronto Branch, 11th Avenue, 1926. The firm of Horwood & White were one of 4 local architects invited to submit a design for this local branch library (dwgs. at Ontario Archives, Horwood Collection, Acc.
