COMPETITIONS

NEW YORK CITY, N.Y., Canadian Pavilion, World's Fair, 1939. Chenevert was one of a number of Canadian architects who submitted designs for the national pavilion at the 1939 exposition. An original perspective drawing showing Chenevert's striking Art Deco design, with its cruciform plan and distinctive stepped wings flanking the entrances, has survived and can be found in the Chenevert Collection (ANQ). Chenevert's design was not premiated and the commission was awarded to W.F. Williams of Nelson, B.C.
