COMPETITIONS

VICTORIA, B.C., James Bay Bridge, 1894. Parr submitted a design in the competition for a new bridge to James Bay, and for his effort he received the Second Premium (Vancouver Daily World, 22 June 1895, 8)
OLYMPIA, WASH., USA, State Capitol Building, 1894. Parr was one of several architects from Canada and the United States who submitted an entry in this major competition (Vancouver Daily World, 22 June 1895, 8). The competition was won by Ernest Flagg of New York, but construction of the winning design was halted after two years, and the project was completed by another American architect (H.R. Hitchcock, Temples of Democracy: The State Capitols of the U.S.A., 1976, 226)
VANCOUVER, B.C., major additions to the Hotel Vancouver, 1902. Parr & Fee were one of several local firms who submitted plans for this project. A perspective view of the elaborate 7 storey Romanesque Revival design by Parr & Fee was published as a full page plate in the Canadian Architect & Builder, xv, March 1902, illus. Their proposal was not built.
